Platform Lifts for Sport & Leisure
Empire Casino
The Casino at the Empire London needed to install DDA compliant lifts to enable customers to freely access both levels and facilities. The casino specified that the disability lifts had to be branded, and aesthetically pleasing to complement the retro décor, designed by a top casino interior designer.
Gaudet Luce Golf Club
In order to become DDA compliant, the Gaudet Luce Golf Club needed to install a platform lift. The golf club also wanted to be able to offer access to all to its conferencing and wedding facilities. The lift installation would need to be architecturally sensitive to the renovated agricultural building.
Sydney Playhouse
The objective was to create step-free access at Sydney’s Playhouse Theatre in line with original architect, the late Jorn Utzons’ Design Principles (a guide for any future build changes), from the foyer for the first time.
Working with contractors, John Holland and leading Australian architects, Johnson Pilton Walker (JPW), the Platform Lift Company was sub-contracted to specify a disability stair lift that would be both functional and aesthetically pleasing for the Playhouse Theatre.
Washington Old Hall
An external platform lift solution was required by the National Trust for its Grade One Listed building, Washington Old Hall. The venue needed to provide DDA access within its gardens, which are split between two levels. It was imperative that the lift solution fitted in with the surrounding environment.
New Vic Theatre
To provide an access lift for the theatre’s new three floor, state-of-the-art, community studio and prop storage area. As well as being DDA compliant, the access solution would also need the capacity to carry heavy loads. The props storage area in the basement would require a controlled access solution, to ensure only authorised members of staff could access the basement.
The Royal Glen Hotel
Installing a platform lift in a grade 1 listed building will always present an interesting challenge. So when BRDG Chartered Architects were commissioned by The Royal Glen Hotel to design a new wing for their grade 1 listed Victorian building, they turned to the Platform Lift Company for expert help.
